The ride belies the weight of the machine.

So it's heavy then???

Why is the front brake on the 'wrong' side?

I like this bit

to approach the design of the bicycle with no respect for rules or restrictions.

..... so they built a normal bike with flat tubes. Genius 🙄

I happen to know company that makes that bike (applied for a job there once...). They actually do a lot of good stuff for F1. Unfortunately, like most car-based companies they know fork all about bikes (see the BMW thread).

There was a writeup on it the other day on Pistonheads and as a money no object sort of thing it is quite cool. Yeah it is against UCI rules but I still think it's wicked.

disc brakes on a road bike? no need, you'd lock up constantly

sadly a lot of the top end carbon fibre companies stay well clear of bicycle parts/frames for insurance reasons

No you wouldn't. Unless you have the finesse of a gorilla. Road tyres have a huge amount of grip you know.......

WTF is "negative torque"? How can the steering of this bike be "more efficient"?

I would guess it's to do with the force you pull up on the pedals. PowerTaps also give crank torque for a lot less money!

It doesn't appear to mention power, although there's a number of references to torque, which on a bike is **** all use!

I'd be interested to try the carbon-ceramic discs, considering how hot they have to get on cars to be of any use I really do wonder if they're up to much on a bike! Dry use only too, guess they can't be any worse than carbon rims. I wonder what the wheels weigh too, obviously tubs, they may have managed to make them reasonably light.

Didn't trek build some lance armsrong relplicas in that horrible brown/gold colourscheme for silly* money?

*because you could buy a lighter bike from their range for less.

Never saw the point, if your going to flaunt the UCI rules, why not go the whole hog and build a fully faired recumbant?
