Not only am I missing my girlfriend who has gone away for a few days, but I am now missing my mountain biking. We have just moved into a new apartment, and so I thought I would take a wander tonight. 2 blocks from the apartment there was a festival in the middle of the road, with the road being blocked off to traffic. It seemed to be some kind of Italian themed thing, with a stage for bands and an inflatable leaning tower of pisa.

Anyway, I have a couple of beers then wander down to the stage. I am not too sure what to make of the band, which seems to be just one band with "variety acts" singing and doing all sorts.

Anyway, there is a kid on a stunt unicycle. he had a full face helment and DH gear the works. That was as close as I got to mountain biking this weekend and I guess I am starting to miss it.

Anyway, at the back of the stage there was a girl in a leotard and a chicken on her head. I am not too sure why, but for the next song, after the unicycle kid, she comes on with a bloke on his knees dressed as a dog. I don't quite know what the song was about, but the Brazilian crowd seemed to enjoy it. A couple of songs later the previous female singer came back on stage dressed as a cat.

I am slightly drunk, but this is my first vaguely Brazilian MTB report. I dont think Chipps will be publishing it, even though it is way better than anything Ro wrote.

Sorry for the poor report - this is as good as it gets right now.

Hope everyone had a good MTB weekend

Si

Oh I forgot to say the chicken wasn't alive or anything, I think it was a toy chicken made of non-live-chicken stuff.

I'm pretty sure they weren't beers you were drinking, Simon
