[#1652845]

Trying to remove my old bb from my kona. Drive side square bb is stuck . I have the right tool but its difficult holding it tight against the the bb . Tried to put a qr skewer through the axle but its not hollow all the way through .

ive got a big old car wheel brace bar with loads of leverage but the tool wont stay put .

And yes I have hit it with a hammer to try and get it moving and I am turning it the right way.

Any ideas?

try squirting a little WD40 on it and laying it down on its side so it can penetrate. leave for a while, try again.

Clamp the tool in a decent vice, and turn the frame instead. Theres less chance of slipping as you can keep it horizontal as you turn!

Use the crank bolt to hold the tool on then a BFO spanner on the tool.

Try using the crank bolt and some washers to hold the tool in place.

crank bolt is way too short

Got the wd40 in there already .

The vice sounds like a cunning plan my lord.

Got it !
Used a vice. But still the bb kept twisting and popping of the tool .

Managed to use a bmx chain tensioner, which was just the right size with a couple of 5p coins either side of it to space it out . Screwed it into the axle and got a bfo spanner on it !
