I have a garmin 500 and import the rides from it into Strave online and Garmin connect.

The time on the garmin for this mornings ride was 1:07:23 and thats the time on the Garmin connect site (as you would expect). The time imported into Strava from the device is 1:08:59. I noticed it did the same on Friday too with a 70 odd second difference between the two.

I just can't understand why strava is adding on extra time. Any ideas.

Garmin counts moving time, Strava counts total time?

No my total ride time was different to the strava time. You would think it would use either moving time or total ride time but its getting a different figure from somewhere. Just checked a few other times and they're all different. If strava isn't recording information accurately from a device then it would seem a bit pointless.

yep I noted the same thing from my 500 data and not an issue due to moving time/elapsed time as it seems to add to both...

might be worth adding a topic in the Strava forum

I thought Strava shows moving time too. Although I think Strava can keep the moving time running if you stop mid-segment?

Just found this on the strava site

'These differences are primarily just due to the differences in how we process data. We do all of our own calculations on the raw data including when you're moving vs when you're stopped and establishing speeds.'

I thought strava would have just imported the final figures but clearly not.
