[Closed] Storing RS Reba upside down - leaking oil

I store my bikes on hooks through the front wheels. I have just noticed that oil is leaking from the top of the right hand leg of my forks (2006 Reba SL U-Turns), somewhere around the compression damping adjuster. They have only done this since I had them serviced - although before servicing the lock-out didn't work (possibly as there was no oil in there?!?) and it now does.
Anyone any experience of this?

Thanks

Tom

where did you get them serviced and what did they do?

The cause of oil leaking out the top is usually a seal in the mtion control compression damper. you can get all the seals in the motion control assembly replaced at tftuned for 25 quid.

Sometimes you can cure this be fitting another seal in the blow off adjuster, but this is really curing a symptom of the problem rather than solving the problem itself.

Got them serviced at Evans in Kendal.

As above really. I cured this problem on my revs by removing the gold floodgate knob and putting a few mm of rubber tubing over the shaft (oo er!) and then putting the gold knob back on, pushing down hard and tightening the grub screw.

IIRC I cut a small piece off a rubber gear cable ferrule protector.

Admittedly it's not really curing the problem but if it works.... ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers for the tips, might give that a go - though i'll call Evans first I think.
