As I'm now the proud owner of a bent surly tugnut and a sheared axle bolt I think I should ask for advice!
No matter what I do I can't stop the wheel on my io slipping, it seems like I can just overpower the bolt tension. Has anyone else struggled with the io set up? I'm thinking of moving to either a qr which I intend to have to boot shut, a full axle with old school style nuts or sacking the io off and getting a frame with an ebb instead...
Tbh it's cocking me right off!
Have you still got the original grub screws in there? roughen up the dropouts and use a serrated washer on the axle nuts?
No, I killed them ages ago. I think roughening up the paintwork is probably my next port of call then, that and buying a slack handful of on-one tugnuts and m6 bolts.
Cheers,
Try removing the paint as TJ suggested, can't say I had a problem with it.
Re the little bolts - I had a thread on here a while back replacing them with something a lot easier to use for a few quid with some screws from B&Q and some presta valve rings.
Bent axle or dropouts not parallel?
