Hi all,

apologies for posting here, but there doesn't appear to be a stolen section.

I have had two bikes stolen from my garage last weekend over easter in Oakworth BD22.

These two bikes were originally stolen in February, along with a beach cruiser bike and Thule bike rack as all four items were locked together. They didnt get through the lock first time and dumped the locked bikes together, which were recovered bu police

Although damaged, as they used my own axe/hammer/saw etc to try to break the lock, then the cruiser frame, I got the bikes back just before Easter.

These were locked away again in my garage with two D locks, but this time they broke the garage door down and brought boltcutters. They made away with the two Orange Patriots, which ive stuck pictures of below.

The Silver Patriot 66 had a damaged rear shock, as they snapped the air valves off first theft, and the frame and shock are badly scratched and dinted. it was running red walled IRC tyres when it was taken.

The black patriot is pretty much scar free, but has a bent rear derailleur from the first theft, and doesnt have the gold answer handlebars now, but bog standard black ones.

Ive leafleted local bike shops, second hand shops and Halfords.. but we'll see. You never know, these bikes might make their way into the hands of someone innocent who takes them out for a blast over the moors, rather than some druggie who takes it down to the dole office every week..

Hope you can help, my email address is richwestwoodatgmaildotcom.
thanks in advance,
Rich

That's s...te mate. Based in baildon and an orange geek, will keep an eye out. Home made alarm based on rape alarm kept the scrotes out of my shed last year, and bought a very expensive motor bike chain and lock all bikes to big F off piece of concrete. Good luck in finding them.

I think motor bike chains the way forward!
On the plus side, at least there were no new bikes to be had second time...

I too live in Oakworth BD22
I had my garage done in November last year, they got one complete bike (my girlfriends) and lots of bike parts. They got about £1500 worth in total but did dump some stuff round the corner. I know of a couple more people in Oakworth that have been burgled over the last few months too.

Do you ride locally?
I've been in Oakworth 5 years and never got round to it!

I do a bit of local stuff, I've even built some jumps in the woods.
I try and get to Guisburn a lot, love the hope line. Made quite a few trips to Llandegla, paralleled universe is good, then try to get to Glentress at least a couple of times a year, spooky wood is just superb.

What about you? Where do you ride if not local?

I've tended to stick to mid/north Wales really, but been away with work for two yrs so the bikes not seen much daylight!
Was looking forward to getting out a bit round here. No more riding now though...
