God those things are horrendous! Such a difference to the alloy Langster.

Do they only appeal to the polo-playing trendy fixie crew in Shoreditch?

^^ I've seen those cheap fixies for sale around £100 on some websites. Can't remember the name of it though.

Rather dangerous IIRC!

I do think the track style bikes look aesthetically pleasing, which is probably why they have become so trendy around the major capitals and have done a lot to make cycling more popular.

You see quite a few sophisticated youngsters pootling round london on their trendy single-speeds. Better on a bike than on the tube...

I think the "cheap fixie" above is better than you think

Mongoose Maurice

You're right though, that does look quite dangerous 🙂

i think the cheap fixie you are thinking of is the create brand. which are a bit rubbish. that mongoose is alright quality though. just rather ugly.

if that langster wasn't red, I'd have one
much better looking than the aluminium one

I think they look quite cool.

Really liked the monaco version they did a few years back.

to be honest, out of the 2 i recon the steel one is much better looking.
toys19, in my experience your mates is the exception to the general rule. although i think they are getting better.

i'm not sure about the handlebars (maybe just the position?), but i prefer the skinny red one.
