Those look amazing. It'll be worth the wait I'm sure. 😊

I've got 3 steel lovelies. Cotic, PP and Marin though. One day I'll have a Starling 👌

A guy on a Starling came past us at Comrie yesterday - it looked very nice, and seemed pretty capable!

I tried one on the Comrie Croft demo day.

Yes it had £££ Ohlins front and rear, but that thing was amazingly fast on the rocky sections, the geometry was really noticeably slack and low and I loved the look of the thing.

Yes please?

I waited about 2 years for my Swoop (my fault rather than Joes, I ended up needing a new roof and boiler), but it was worth the wait. I think picking the colour was the hardest part!

What components are you going for?

Ive gone for mid grey on the colour, same as the factory murmurs i believe. picking a colour seemed like the hardest part of the build as i wanted a copper colour but kept getting pulled back to the one thats been my screensaver for a while.

ive gone for the same build as the original photo just coil rather than air and dt swiss ex471s with black hope hubs and gold nipple (because why not).

ive sold my remedy 8 so all my next rides will be on a 2013 charge cooker SS rigid so safe to say when my starling turns up its going to be an even better day. buzzing

I'm intrigued by the twist and might demo one. Just wonder how it handles with a coil given it's got a relatively linear ratio and how you'd go about cramming in a decent size water bottle on a medium frame with a big old shock on there.

Ooo how exciting, quite tempted to try a 29er wheel in the front of my Swoop just to see...

Water bottle fits with the piggy back on the Öhlins on ours but it is annoying with the position up top as it usually works its way free and falls out.

How do you post Instagram photos?

Here's mine, had it in yellow originally but just had it repainted in the Land Rover Defender green.

Got an öhlins coil on now as that DVO was absolutely pants! You can see it in these pics as well as my girlfriend's matching one in sky blue 😉

I've purposely not test rode one as I reckon i'd somehow find a way to try buy one, I really like my Cotic but there's something about the Starling bikes. What made you choose the Twist over the Swoop or Murmur?

I didn’t test one. I ummed and ahhhd for what seemed like a long time. That was a total waste of time and energy because the bike is great. To be honest, my dilly dally was related to spending more money on more bike bits rather than questions about the bike.

I have a factory murmur and I love it.

well i was looking at the murmur and the swoop for a while but just wasnt sure about going full 29er and i already had a decent 27.5, then out of nowhere as if it was meant to be they released the twist and id been saving for something for a while and i just thought **** it why not, its different!

haha yes exactly the same as me and to be honest ive read everything i can about the swoop and murmur and the limited amount on the twist so didnt really have many questions. at the end of the day its got 2 wheels and the other bikes have raving reviews so i dont really think i could lose. im not good enough to tell the minor differences i just love riding bikes.

They are lovely looking bikes. I much prefer the look of a skinny steel frame over everything else. I’d love to own a Swarf Contour one day, but the Starlings also look great. Have fun OP and post lots of pictures when it arrives.

Note that you don't even need to create an account to use postimages but if you don't it will add another link to an advert when you copy the hotlink, although it's easy enough to delete that before hitting submit.

Registering for an account is free and as well as not giving you that advertising link it's also easy to go back later and re-post the image somewhere else.

Trying postimage for the first time... Here's my Murmur with 160mm Lyriks. Absolutely love this bike although it's quite dependant on a good shock, I'm still experimenting with my Deluxe, might add a Megneg.
Enjoy yours!
