Magura FR brakes. Wooley hatshop pads. Brakes work well doing ride. Then once home and dried out the brakes don't seem to work.They just don't grip the rotors. Pretty sure brakes themselves are fine. Feel normal. However the pads and caplier need to have mud and water added to them to work properly again post ride. There's no chane the pads are contaminated as they pretty new. Also the rear brake makes a low pitch squeeching whinning noise on full power at the rear. Very strange.I cleaned the rotors too with meths.
also using a a2z 203 rotor adapter. Just looks at pads and they are worn at a slight angle,so i just respacing the caliper out.The bottom mount needed to come out a little.
Meths leaves a reside on the discs and contaminates pads, the discs need a thin payer of pad material on them to work so should only be leaned if contaminated. If the pads needed abrasive added to them it says to me they are contaminated. sand the discs and pads, reset the calipers up as in the hope videos and re bed them in. If that does not work get some original manufacturer pads to eliminate the cheap pads as a cause

Still pedalling the same old tripe then TJ, the first splash of mud and grit on the disc will wear this mythical layer (payer) off 🙄
Dibbs. You may not understand it but it is true. Without this layer thye do not work - when the layer goes ( I believe) is when you get the rapid wear

Interesting link, but two things, it relates to cars and talks about theory, so I don't know if a theory can be taken as gospel unless some sort of research has proven or supported it.
@Juiced, what cleaning products have you used? If I need to I clean my discs with halfords brake & clutch cleaner. Works for me.
now the a2z mount is about 4 mm too fat out and needs to be come inwards to the frame in order to be centred. may need filing or machining on a lathe say it needs to come on 2mm. Frame has been faced already. Don't t want to remove materal of the frame. So presumably I am going to have to find a engineer co to help out.

you are very right there, because if you put a new disc on old pads the old pads will wear much quicker than they did with the old disc.
