Can any Stanton Switchback owners tell me the maximum seatpost insertion length on their 16.5" or 18" frames? Wondering what length dropper I could fit in one.
Thanks.
Have a 125 reverb all the way down on a 16.5
Not sure what the maximum insertion is, but I’m 5’10 on an 18” with a 150 Reverb. Probably an inch of or so more that can be dropped before the sleeve of the post meets the seat clamp.
I'm running a 170mm Fox Transfer on a 16.5".
Running a 170mm brand-x on my 18" and it'll go right down to the collar.
Thanks folks, I am wondering if I can fir a one-up 210mm dropper which has an internal length of 297mm ... or if the seat tube bends before this point. Probably on an 18", but I'd be interested to see how much would fit in a 16.5" as well.
I've just measured my mk1 16.5, it's ~280mm from the top of the seat tube to the point it starts to bend if that helps at all.
Thanks kayla that's a great help. Hopefully the 18" is a bit longer before it bends.
Looking at the one-up diagram again, 15mm of the total length is the actuator which would fit inside the bend so I think even with a 280mm insertion depth it would be within a gnats whisker of fitting.
next question - anyone 5'11" on a 16.5" long frame? Reach is about the same across the 16.5" long and 18" regular - I like a low frame as used to DJ frames etc so fancy the 16.5".
My 18” Slackline measures 29cm from the top of the seat tube to the top of the kink.
Also worth noting is Stanton no longer produce the four options, only 16.5” and 18” in long.
