Anyone tried this? Got an event coming up and don't want to get slowed down with punctures and haven't got the time to go fully tubeless. ANyone tried whacking stans inside an inner tube and does it reduce/stop those annoying thorn punctures?

Yep, I stick it in my Il Pompino commuter inner tubes to avoid having to find a 15mm spanner to fix punctures.
I found it next to useless when i tried it in a few tubes.
When i punctured it just pissed sealant everywhere which then made patching it impossible. Total waste of time (for me- other experiences may vary). FYI these were not big gashes, just your normal everyday thorn punctures.
In fact, it did seal the puncture one of the times, but only after i'd left it overnight and pumped it up again - so not exactly the speedy fix you'd be lokking for!
I still have around 4 of those little Stans Fluid bottles knocking around which i keep meaning to shift as i certainly won't be using them again.
I do this as a matter of course and it works. Pre-glued patches won't work, obviously but vulcanising kits work okay though. I've only ever had to repair a handful of times though.
would be better of buying them slime things.. know a couple of people that use them ok.
Yep it works really well!
I have gone tubeless now but did this for a year or so first. I have used schrader valves & removed the valve core with a core tool & then used presta valves on my other bike with schwarble tubes that have a removable centre - like the stans valves.
I had NO punctures at all - for the whole year - and when I took my winter mud tyres off the tubes were pinned to the tyres with numerous long thornes - but they were sealed on the inside with the 'no flats' solution.

If you pick inner tubes where you can remove the core (some presta tubes) and most schraeder, then it's really easy to put some in an inner tube, esp if you have the Stans applicator syringe thing.
