Hi I'm a mountain biker going to have a go on road got a bike

Mech and chain needs replaced does any do as long as I get it for
8speed
You must use Shimano with Shimano, Campag with Campag. Within that anything will do.
More or less, yes, within the same brand and cage length. There's a pre-post 2000 thing with campag 9s IIRC.
If the cassette is worn you'll need to replace that too.
Its all shimano so that's all I need guys thanks a lot

Any shimano 8/9 speed rear mech.
If its cheap you're after Sunrace does a half decent one for not much money. And there's Microshift as well.
Otherwise the usual - Shimano.
So a 9 speed rear mech would do as well although
