After advice - managed to bend one sidewall of crest rim after all of 70 miles - just hit a square edge rock not seen at high speed.
It's leaking air v slowly (tubeless) but almost true. Do I a) try straighten myself b) get someone else to do a or c) new rim and rebuild? (hope hoop on new pro 2 hub)
Cheers
James
May as well try a) or b) before c). If you're a ham fisted oaf get someone else to do it. Otherwise do it yourself.
They bend back fairly easily, I used an adjustable spanner with a soft cloth in the jaws to prevent scratches after I dinged both a crest and a 355. No problems with the rims since.
If the bend is over a large section of the rim it should be possible to bend it back, I used the channel that a roller shutter door runs in to recover a Crest which had 20+mm of deflection over about 150mm. It is still holding air with a yellow tape Stans setup.
Use an adjustable spanner and piece of leather to protect the rim,and very gently straighten it
Nice one cheers guys. Will fiddle tonight and resurrect the wheel...
