My gears keep ghost shifting once I get onto the biggest ring up front - they seem to jump up & down on the cassette untill they settle down.
any advice? is it just a case of pissing around with the cable tension?

Probably dirt or a kink in the cable or housing. Best to replace cables and start afresh.

I had similar on my brand new bike (Not SRAM Red though) and it was only resolved once the LBS changed all the outers and cables.

it's probably done less than 100miles from new! cables are gore ride ons
(I did piss around with the tension as it would shift to the biggest cog in the cassette when I got it)
