Any links would be cool - i bought a sram - shimano shim off ebay a while back when i planned to use a shimano bb with my sram chainset but never got round to it. Now i have a shiny hope bb - how do i get it to work with my sram gx chainset?

I've stopped running a Shimano-with-shim BB with my GXP cranks. Main reason was chain line. I couldn't get the chain ring further out than 44mm (boost frame, so ideally need 52mm). You can't run spacers on the drive-side with GXP cranks as the machined axle step won't allow it. Moved back to accepting cheese-like GXP BB bearings as cost is minimal.
