Decided to do a full service on my bike today, bearings, full strip down on the forks, replaced the invisiframe even...
Left the brakes until last and thought I'd give them a bleed... Undid the bleeding edge port, then nipped it up with an Allen key, but it didn't really do up...
Came to bleed it and fluid pissing out of the bleed port on the caliper. It won't tighten at all.
Any ideas? Or is it ****ed?
Sorry bud, unable to help I'm afraid but have a bump.👍
Does it not need a t10 or t15 instead of an allen? There should have been a double ended tool with the brakes?
Mine usually an Allen key - daft question but are you sure you used the right size? The port is so heavily recessed you’re pretty much doing it by feel. Also don’t overdo it!
My Guide RE's use a torx on the caliper. Thought they all did?
Thanks for the suggestions.
I think the seal has gone, I've probably over tightened it. Not sure if it is a serviceable part or not.
New caliper time I think...
I would assume the bleed screw o ring is damaged, a new o ring and bleed plug is included in the caliper hardware kit, or you could source an o ring individually if you can work out the size.
I would try removing the bleed screw first.
