i have bust my suntour Raidons 🙁 I thought they were an awesome fork but it looks like the left side isn't holding air very well, can see anything noticeable but they just aren't working properly. So after reading some reviews on this fork, it seems like it's a common problem so I'm looking at others,, there doesn't seem a great deal of choice for what I need as I need 29er forks 1" 1/8 steerer straight with a 15mm axle and 120mm of travel. I can only find suntours that do this which happens to be the epicon or epicon, has anyone got any experience with these?

What bike is it, I know the Bizango came with suntour forks. Just wondering id it actually has a tapered heat tube but a reduced on the bottom cup/bearing for the existing fork. If so it'll take a tapered fork.

Long shot I know but thought I'd double check.

I really like my epixons if it's any help, epicon is an older model that was renamed to epixon.

They are one model up from Raidon so have a few more refinements, thicker stantions with better coating, lighter weight .. Not sure about the internals..

A few ml of thick oil (80w gear oil) in the air side, above the piston, is a recommended fix for leaky Suntours-

but Epicon/Epixon are great if you fancy something a bit nicer, Aurons are even better if you can stump up the extra and your frame'll take a tapered steerer 🙂

Yes, what frame is it?

If it has a 44mm headtube like the Bizango you can run a tapered or even 1.5" straight steerer (I did exactly that with my Bizango).

The original fork might be straight 1 1/8 but if the head tube is 44mm you can run a straight or a tapered fork, you'd just need to replace the headset or part of the headset depending..

I have some suntour aurons for sale. Currently 150mm travel but can be reduced via spacers. Really nice fork, 34mm stanchions and 15mm qloc axle. In Sheffield if you want to see them
