I am looking to establish why on Monday morning, after a decent 1.5 hr training ride (no jumps or technical stuff) and 2x hard spinning clsses in the week, on that next morning my knees were warm to the touch.
They were like that for a day and now, even 5 days later, they're now aching.
I am not sure why this should be, nothing is different on the bike or my shoes or the cleats for example.
I'm keen to seek professional advice and no one seems to have experienced anything like this heat in both knees that I felt.
Thanks
TIM
If you want professional advise you'll have to see a Doctor or Physio in person. But hot knees can be caused by inflamation of the ligaments and soft tissue in and around the Knees. 500g Ibuprofen tablets will help .It might be a one off but if it keeps on happening see your GP or find the address of your nearest sports physio.
500g Ibuprofen tablets will help
500g ibuprofen, blimey. i hope they aren't suppositories
LOL. they'd bring tears to your eyes!!! Try 500mg instead.
i don't think you'll get 500mg without prescription. for localised swelling like that i'd recommend a topical anti inflammatory gel like emulgel
*I AM NOT MEDICALY TRAINED*
but i have relied on anti inflammatory medicines to keep my various knackered joints/spine in use for a good few years now
Save your cash and just use a cold compress (bag of frozen peas in a tea towel or someting). Raising your legs might help too. But, get it checked out if it persists.
Warm joints can be a sign of rheumatoid arthritis. Best get it checked out by your GP or a physio or an orthopeadic consultant (in that order).
