Fitted a set of these today, had to use silicone spray to get them on tight as ****.

Once inflated they look ok for the money.

Anyone else using these?

Cheers

Yup, not in this weather though. Not bad in the dry though, quick rolling.

I used some last year as a summer tyre, didn't find them especially tight mine were sworks version and I don't know if they are easier to get on and off than the control version.

as a side note. In the summer I tried Spesh purgatory tyres (as I ripped the sidewall of the captain and the other was a bit worn) and I much prefer them they blow up bigger than claimed arn't much heavier and seem to offer much more grip. Through the winter they are better than captains too hooking up much more but not as good as my mud x's for ultimate filth.

Spesh tyres are usually really loose!

I thought the Captains were alright, bit of a jack of all trades, master of none. They're not that big, or grippy, or light, they just work ok in everything!

THey are pretty tight to get onto Olympic rims. Brilliant tyre in the snow and ice - my tyre of choice for the Puffer.

Went on Shimano XT wheelset pretty quickly with nothing but a tyre lever. JRA wheelmilk and they've been great. Very happy zipping (chuntering) through the snow on the North Downs. I like them.

Why does it matter what they're on?!

I don't really see it as a bad thing, they're cheap, tubeless compatible, and a good solid reliable tyre, I just meant that they don't really excel anywhere.

The wire bead version is the same, just a bit heavier with a harder compound!
