My specialized command post has finally given up the ghost and the collet has broken. I've got a new one coming tomorrow from my LBS, but I can't get the old one off. I can get a spanner on the flat spots, but it's really tight and I'm in danger of rounding it off if I force it much more.
Does anyone know if it's glued or if I need to take anything else off first?

Give Specialized uk a ring tomorrow and ask them in the technical department. They are very good at helping out with problems. They even sorted me out when my forks broke in the alps , Futureshock 160, and although I had a day of riding I was back on the trails the next day.
