So in the last few weeks my Specialized Command IR dropper post started popping up of its own accord from fully compressed to fully extended on rougher sections of trail. At first, I thought I was accidentally hitting the release trigger on the bars, but the incidence has increased more recently and now I'm pretty sure it's not me. It usually happens on bigger hits.

Has this happened to anyone?

Have a check on how much cable you have pulled through into the down tube as if there isnt enough it wont allow full return of the mechanism. Thats what was happening to one of ours. Thats assuming that the inner cable is running free and not gunged up

The same thing happened to mine I replaced the inner and outer cables which fixed the issue

Interesting. The wire is set pretty taut actually, so perhaps I'll try turning the barrel adjuster in slightly and see whether it helps.

Yip, it's cable tension. I've had the opposite where it would drop unexpectedly. Quick cable adjustment and it's been fine since.

Having just fitted and set one up I found it does seem better with just a little slack/freeplay rather than a taught cable.

As above. Cable needs to be allowed to go fully slack when released.

Cable tension or worse still a busted collet.
