looking for some comfy spd shoes, that I can wear all day long, and walk about in.
Shimano XM9, Giro Terraduro, or Pearl Izumi Xalp Enduro..
All look pretty good IMHO Tony.
Don't the Terraduros still fall apart? They had the sole peeling issue then supposedly fixed it but it was still happening.
No idea Colin, but good to know, was planning on buying a pair myself..
May well rethink that then..
Those Specialized cadet shoes that Rutland were knocking out for cheap recently, i find mine pretty comfy off the bike & a guy in work cycles in wearing them (~8 miles or so) then keeps them on all day - they're sold out online but still loads on ebay for £20 or so.
Any that fit you? With the exception of a pair of Sidi Dominators bought (and then sold again rapidly) from the classifieds, which were 1/2 a size smaller than they claimed, I'd happily wear any of the spds I've bought over the years all day.
My official commuting shoes are currently the SPD version of the Teva Links - done a good few 18hr+ days in them. Also done long days in my Terraduros (yes they do seem to still fall to bits) and my Shimano MW80s. Used to wear Shimano trainer-ish shoes all day every day for 10 years or so..
+1 on those Specialized Cadets, what a £15 bargain they were from Rutland.
They're probably too breathable for chilly winter days, but easily a 3-season shoe at least.
