Following on from last weeks 'where to live in Manchester' thread, and the conclusion reached. Namely that the way to gauge the civility of the area in which to live is to establish the standard of the local kebab house.

To this end, the South Manchester Massive will be heading out for a Wednesday evening ride. Just a social really. A jaunt down the Mersey, possibly out to Reddish Vale. And almost certainly involving a mid-route beer stop. But.... and this is the important bit.... finishing at the Turkish Delight. The finest kebab house in the country, to sample their wares.

Everyone welcome. Riding, beer and kebabs - whats not to like?

some of the riding between the start point and reddish vale may not be actually *along* the TPT, more kind of diving off to the side here and there through nice twisty singletrack. Oh yes, and horrible prickly bushes.

can't make wednesday sorry Binners 🙁

i'm 50/50 for this, just because i don't do beer or kebabs plus i'd have to ride it on a silly freeride bike. but i'd like to make it though, not been on a ride with the SMM cabal for ages...

Sounds excellent. Unfortunately, as you'll have seen in the "Where to live" thread I don't live in Manchester yet. Fancy another one around early October?

We could maybe organise a bike joust using kebab sticks. Panicos vs Turkish Delight. Bring it on.

Went to a Palestinian place in Edgeware/London on Friday evening. Stunning food. Lots of fresh mint (like a bloody mini-tree across the food!).

An absolute belter of a run last night chaps. So successful in fact that I feel it'd be frightfully bad form not to make it a regular feature of the social season. Henley? Cowes Week? Wimbledon? The Turkish Delight Kebab and Beer Run? 🙂

I've got some photos to upload to the site later

Would be tempted as its only 5 mins from where I work. Getting home would be a problem though.

Those Kebabs on Snowslaves site do look ****in nice though.

Is it open at lunchtimes? I'm sat here hungry and just seen those pictures. Now even hungrier.

Called in there on the way back from Manchester on Sat night - Kingsize Mixed with a starter portion of halloumi split between two. We live next door to a pub so I nipped in for a take-away pint to wash it down while the wife plated it up. Not a bad end to a good night out.

CHeers for a solid evening jaunt, was a pleasure to meet you all.
The ride back into town was only a tad sketchy without a kebab to soak up the booze - i'll just have to remedy that next time 🙂
