So who has done the SDW then ?
Just doing some research on the trip, but wanted to get the STW massive's opinions. ๐
Use the forum search and you'll find a fair few comments.
Depending on fitness, you'll be spending 10-20 hours in the saddle over 1-2 days. There's also a "famous" site with all the SDW info you'd ever need - haven't got the link to hand though.
Best to do it during dry/mild conditions because the trail becomes a complete bind (literally) as the weather worsens.
Depends on why you want to do !
If you want to do for the experience of a endurance type event then yes feel free to come down and do it.
If you want to do purely for 'mountain biking' then the answer probably is no.
To sum up - Lovely countryside, views etc, some grinding but short climbs but nothing technical.
ps - I live right by SdW so it is my play area lol
lots and lots of climbing, some good fun descents and good sense of achievement when you finish.
i did it when the sun was shining and loved it. may be less appealing in grim weather.
