Help, struggling to find a replacement foam ring.
It was loose and baggy and I had popped it back on, but this service has revealed why fork not quite right, the foam had split and was jammed half off the shaft. Wally.

I think I *might* have one of those in the tool box - not needed so you can have it if you like.

He is indeed, but even Simon has to buy a kit in £24. Jimbo YGM.
What is a little odd is that I have two identical reba team black boxes, with identical air shaft arrangement. One full of grease (the one I have problems with) and one full on oil. I realise RS changed advice to grease recently. Wally.

Yes, an annoying change. Grease just doesn't seem to lubricate it properly. I've switched mine back to oil.

As for Simon, I thought it worthy asking him in case perhaps he has another source of the foam rings or has some left over etc.

You're the second person to ask for one of those foam rings lately so will see if I can source a bag of them from one of my suppliers

I left mine out, I assume it is there to lubricate the wiper seal? As long as you change the oil fairly regularly and oil the seal I can't see removing it as a big problem. I don't think all their forks have them either.

I was the first to ask for one simon, it seems a common fault the foam ring falls out and ends up between the o-ring and the wall and releses oil into te negative chamber I think. I tryed making a replacment by making a rectangle of foam then glueing the ends together - no good. Then by cutting a ring out which is whats on there now I would rather have a proper replacment though but the rockshox foam ring is not up to it. The ring needs to grip the shaft tighter.

I've just opened up my Rebas and they have done the same, both foam rings have disintegrated.

So spares aren't easy to come by? Arse.

Still looking for sources of decent foam rings, for various applications.

They do come in the full service kits which have all parts for the damper and air spring legs, although they're only there as a bit of a fluid resevoir, so should work ok without for a while as long as serviced fairly regulary. 😀
