Maxxis Worm Drive? Is what I used in exactly that situation and thought they were great.

OK thanks I had a look at them but I might need something with a nit more grip for off road.

I got some Specialized Fast Track LK's on mine which I'm very pleased with. Gripped off road well in the wet recently, roll fast and good on tarmac too.

I use Maxxis CrossMarks, they roll pretty well on the hard stuff

kenda dred tread. - 1.8 works for my commute and xc fun.
will use 2.1 for Kielder 100.

OK thanks I had a look at them but I might need something with a nit more grip for off road.

Used mine off road and they were great in the dry, never tried them off road in the wet.

Furious Fred. Combine with a Rocket Ron up front for some grip.
