I hate to seem unsympathetic but if you didn't want it stolen you should have taken it with you

Well I for one have never seen a student riding a bike with a light.

it was parked outside the GF's uni building.

thinking of writing the following in the snow in front of where the bikes are parked:

"wenn ich herausfinde wer mein licht geklaut hat, dann würde ich dich mit ein stift im augen ficken"

which translates roughly - well, directly - "if i find out who stole my light, then i will f*ck you in the eye with a pen"

I leave my bike in the staff changing room, we had some agency staff working before Christams. 2 years no problems, I was leaving everything as it was. Than this one time I went for the bike and the rear light went walkies, mount was left (how daft? or they didn't have a scredriver :-)). £3 light so wasn't too bad. Only problem is I had to cycle home at 6:40am with only a small 1 led helmet light.

I also had my bike outside Uni and once left the led lights on and forgot to take bits from the saddlebag. Everything was there when I came back after over an hour.

Now You will remember to take everything off the bike every time...

I once left an unlocked bike in Victoria St, Edinburgh for an afternoon.

Not the best looking bike I'll confess...
