Bit of advice really folks. Just had delivered what was described on Amazon as a Solarstorm X2. Reviews are usually good, so spent me 30 quid.
When it arrived, it was branded as "ap cycles / apcycles.co.uk. It looks identical to SX2, so no worries there.
It comes with a Chinese charger with UK adaptor, so on it goes to charge, I notice that the green LED indicator stays green, they usually turn red when charging, then turn green when charged right? So I leave it on charge of a few hours, attach the light to the battery, turn it on......nothing!
Would it be the battery / torch unit or am I being thick and missing something?
It came from AP Motorstore in Holmfirth. I'm sure they will replace it, I haven't been in touch them yet as it was waiting for me when got home from work Friday.
Thanks for your feedback.

Mine is red while charging, then green when charged.
Obviously when I plug the light in to the battery, it lights 🙂

Dodgy charger most likely - easy to get fixed but take it back just in case

If head unit works ok then see if you can wangle a discount and buy a proper uk charger

Could be the charger as it should turn red when charging. If the battery is full however then the charger should just stay green therefore it could be that the lamp unit is knackered. Unless you've previous Chinese lights to fault find I'd say you'll need to send all of it back.

Yes, the battery should have arrived with some charge in it, so the fact you've never had it light points to at least the battery being dead.

Cheers chaps.
Spoken to AP Motorstore, they reckon dodgy charger, and will replace the whole lot, just posted back to them.
Will update when new set arrives, couldn't believe how tiny the head unit is, hope I'm not going to be disappointed, says they are 5000lmn....we'll soon see eh?

It's not 5000 lumens
More like 1200, but it's still good value and as bright as many £200+ systems.
Charger and Battery seem weak point however.
(my charger needed replacing).

You got a link for "Torchy"? I just seem to be able to find his web site with battery reviews, nothing for sale?
Cheers,
