I saw it running about the trail in a very dazed state. Can't imagine it lasted long after that.
I'm amazed that the corpse seemed to "survive" mostly unsquashed throughout the 12 hour race. Nearer the end of the day, it was a helpful reminder that things could be worse...
For a while it remained Squirrel shaped and was neatly pressed into the track, I only ran over it on a couple of laps !
