Budget might stretch to Shimano MT-65 SLX tubeless at £180

Any others? Superstar worth looking at? I've no preference for cartridge bearings over cup and cone and don't need anything heavy duty
I got Crossrides from Merlin 1.5 years ago. The look smart but are a bit heavy (although probably compariable to anything else at that price). Still reasonably true after 1.5 year of riding on my rigid bike. I am quite light but I've had them round some bumpy stuff without problem. The other thing to consider is that they are non standard spokes, so whilst they look good, getting spokes replaced could be a PITA in the long run.
Oh no don't start the Superstar debate again!!!! I got a set of these back in March and as well as looking great, so far they have behaved faultlessly.

Dave Hinde can't be faulted for their build or customer service.
I think a quick search on google and plenty of forums would show that there seem to be quite a few faults with Dave Hinde's customer serviceDave Hinde can't be faulted for their build or customer service.
LX hubs with the best rims you can afford.
Mate got a set of bottom-of-the-range Fulcrums on CRC for very little cash, and they seem to be excellent. They're on sale right now, for 100, and a £10 off voucher shouldn't be hard to locate.
You can send me the spare £60, if you like, or push the budget to the £180 ones.

I'd go with something that uses normal spokes patterns for future repairs.
