As per the topic....

Did you get a good price that made you want to stay with the Isla brand, or was it just the same as any other trade-in model, where you get relatively poor value on the trade in but its convenient?

How do they assess the trade in value?

I was told in not so many words by a member of Islabike staff that ebay would give me alot more money than the trade in deal. We've sold most of ours for within £20 off the RRP for the equivalent new one.

£20 for a year doesn't seem too bad!

Indeed I was thinking of heading to ebay or the sales forum here, but my other half reminded me of the trade in. Sounds like its not as good.

Sell it either on here or ebay, they do well 2nd hand.

If it's a small beinn or the one up from a big beinn then I'll buy it

Sorry, 'fraid not. It will probably be both a Rothan and a Cnoc14, both in red.

The little one on the Rothan wants a blue bike, so the possibility of his brother's Cnoc14 in red just won't do 😉

Blue bikes are always slower.

As above, though I didn't use eBay, I sold our lad's Beinn 26 for a decent sum to a friend after two or three years solid and happy use. All parties happy I think.

My boy just moving up from Rothan to Cnoc14 at Xmas. Both have been purchased 2nd hand (the Rothan from this forum before he was born!) and the Cnoc14 locally. Got lucky with the Cnoc14 as a very kind customer I work with pretty much donated it to the cause! Its a sweet little ride and cant wait to wrap it on behalf of father Christmas! Selling wise, Ebay seems to provide the greatest returns.. although Isla are a very helpfull company (have bought replacement parts directly in the past and was well looked after!) 🙂
