Contemplating getting a Tranny to swop my Scandal frame over. Is it worth the change? Always wanted an Ibis.
Very, err, stiff at the rear. I think it would great as a 29er (c'mon Ibis get the finger out).

I'm fairly sure I saw a Scot Nicol interview a while back where he claimed there would be multiple model launches this year; so far there's only really been the Mojo HDR...
Pffft, Robbies right. 26er forever !!. You still riding Friday Robs? Might have to shop around and see whats what , if not available any more. Carbon black ones look just right.

I have one. It rides very nicely and as you no doubt know it can be run geared or SS. It isn't the most comfortable of frames but it does accelerate quickly. It is designed to run with a 100mm fork but I've gone up to 130mm with no problems. It looks best in Orange by the way....
As Scotroutes said, I have just built one up... a big black rigid stiff one (its a large size),
Really happy, stiff, fast and snappy. Running without a suspension fork and really enjoying it. Managed the whole build for under a grand by ebay sniping and carbonzone purchases.
As mentioned, its specced for 100mm forks but 130mm also rides well.
Think, since going tubeless my build is 10.5kg....

Thanks Tj... Really enjoying the ride... took me a while to find the frame. Other bike, a Mojo is medium but chose a large for this. Its only 2.5mm top tube difference and I had a short stem ready to go.
Frame from ebay, was built as a shop demo but never ridden, wheels, new but 2009 Crossmax ST, brakes, Formula R1, Schwalbe TL ready tyres, Carbonzone post and forks, ebay SLX crankset...
(Brake line now tidied up and seatpost height corrected)
It is a flier... will be looking for a light 130mm 15mm qr fork at some time.
The frame is also carbon taped everywhere, the film came from a Car Wrapping business as offcuts...

I think of it as an over-grown BMX. Fast, snappy, whippy. Great on the jumps. It's also very compliant too - so I'm not quite sure what the other comments about it being 'stiff' are all about?
I find it very stiff laterally - it feels like all the pedalling power you put down is transferred from the massive BB junction directly to the back wheel. The front end steering precision and lateral strength in the frame is also very noticable. BUT it is also very compliant over bumps, particularly at the rear-end. To put this in some context - the first time I rode this bike I headed down a really rocky fast descent I know and was utterly convinced I had a rear puncture, despite not - as the rear end just felt so 'soft' compared to my other alu hartail.
I love hardtails and this - to me - is the the simply ultimate exposition of a light, fast 26er hardtail... and possibly the last to be ever in production too... sniff. 🙁
I too always wanted one - got rid of my steel xc hard tail and fs bike to get one about a year ago. Rode it rigid ss, as a 69er through last winter. Weighs next to nothing, nice and balanced, so I really like it. Then put 100 SIDS followed by 120 Foxs, with wide bars, dropper post 1x10.
I have seen a few reports from folk who find the rear end stiff/ harsh but its never occurred to me (and I run a 10mm bolt though).
I'm 6ft and got a large which is bang on.
Issues: One would be tyre clearance - its not brilliant at the back. I ran ralphs 2.25 - fine in dry but bit too close in wet. Now have Geax Saguaro 2.0 which leaves a bit more room. The slot machine initially moved when I ran ss which was a pain but seemed to settle down with a clean and some carbon grease. I love the different bikes it can be but its a pain swapping backwards and forwards. I am building a dedicated ss for mud plugging this winter. Here are a couple of pics.

djflexure - How are you liking those on-one rigid carbon forks? (I take it thats what they are!)
No complaints, perfect for the Tranny. Just put them on an Inbred - not sure they quite match but we will see.

They do look the mutts. Fuel for thought.........Looks like I will need a headset. Is it a HT2 BB ?
Yes conventional English BB 73mm which is nice.
