I'm going to start after Torq1212, oh god. I'm fairly confident it's going to be painful.
In my case it's more 'started my bike training ๐
Was going well stamina-wise a few months ago, lapsed a bit with new job. Hoping to make a short fell race tonight, that should be a marker of where I'm at.
My training at the moment consists of riding a 2 spd Brompton 32 miles to Canary Wharf and back. I think after the start I won't be seeing you again!
Oh I doubt it, I'll be in the grupetto, just ahead of the broom wagon. Beating 4h 40-something from 2 years ago would be nice, but we'll see. Road hill reps (500'-ish a lap), hilly running, laps of a 3/4 mile cx circuit with a 3' steep carry has been my bread and butter training. Note the lack of time in saddle ๐
Been doing a bit. Not so much on the running - the odd fell race, club run one night a week. Been doing some carrying hill reps up a fairly (although not quite Simon Fell) steep hill. Have a look on Twitter #3Peakscx to see what people have been up to.
Running training?
For the 3 Peaks?
More like 'bike on back and yomp up a vertical mountainside for 30 minutes' training.
I don't remember doing much running when I did the 3 Peaks - apart from one occasion when I came over all enthusiastic at the top of Ingleborough.
I don't plan on doing any running, but reckon fell running legs are as good as anything for this ridiculous race. Me and @richpips off of here had a ding-dong at Chunal Fell last night. Couple of sections were *almost* as steep as Simon Fell. Should really have taken a small mallet to periodically bash the shoulders for full effect.
