Showers Pass didn't materialize as I don't have shovels for hands 🙄 Looking at Sealskinz and an STW thread from 4 years ago came up most opinions were they were rubbish so is that still the case ?

I have few pairs of Sealskinz Waterproof All Weather MTB Gloves. I think mine have been superceded by a newer version.
I suffer with cold hands and these work well keeping my hands dry and warm in sub zero temps. They are also thin enough not to impede my riding.
I find Sealskinz gloves okay down to just below freezing with some silk liners. I've not found anything that really works a lot better. I'll probably give those Galibier's a shot, though.
Mine are fine too. Keep my hands dry, and if it’s really cold using the extra liners does the job just fine

Suffer a lot with cold hands - bought some top notch sealskinz about 5 years ago - they were rubbish. hopefully they've improved since then. Failed on two basic fronts warmth and dry.
Should have added - I bought some showerpass gloves the knitted ones and a pair of wind / waterproof ones - had then for a year now and they seem pretty good, Not tried Galibier.
Don't know about Sealskins, but I can vouch for Galibier. I have the Deep Winters and their leather gloves as well. I was out yesterday at 2C with the leather gloves and was contemplating putting my liners on at lunch, but didn't. I suffer from Reynaud's so can't survive cold hands. The Deep Winter gloves are fine below freezing.
I really hate my sealskins. I have just received some Endura Mt500 polartech filled gloves for Christmas which I hope will be an improvement.
Mine have the waterproofing qualities of a damp sponge.
I've never really understood how Sealskinz are supposed to work. Are they trying to soak up all the moisture so that there's nothing left to get to the skin?
I got some hiking ones a few years ago. Awful, worn them twice and they look worn out already.
My SS softshell gloves work and fit well.
The older, bigger waterproof pair we've got work OK.
They're significantly better performing at dry and warm than the Endura gloves we have, and waaaay better than the Altura ones we bought recently.
Although the Decathlon cycling winter gloves are best of the lot...although my 'ourdoor brand' and stretchy magic gloves kick all cycling gloves to touch in the winter.
Never had a problem with Sealskin, still one of the default brands I rate. I like my sealskin Dragon eye glove and have two pairs of winter gloves, one from many years ago which were too warm to wear above freezing and a newer (less insulated) winter pair which are fine too.
My seal skins are OK as long as I don't take them off mid ride
I’ve got a very old pair of Sealskin all weather gloves that I use for skiing and have found them great.
I run hot and don’t require a lot of insulation so find proper ski gloves are far too hot for me.
The sealskin ones have been great, used them on all kinds of weather in the slopes and they have kept my hands dry and warm.
They are losing their repellency to water now, even after washing and re proofing but I’ve had them for ~8 years and used them many times.

Looks like those gloves put there Goretex waterproof layer on the outside, which makes a nice change. Never understood why they're always on the inside!!
