I'm supposed to be meeting a mate in Castleton tomorrow for a road ride.

It will be his first ride since breaking his left wrist in the summer. Just looking at the forecast for snow showers and wondering if he may be risking breaking the other one?

if that's not a reason for a MTB ride I don't know what is.

Snowy road ride in Peaks

Get out on the MTB!

If it was my first ride back after a broken wrist, I'd not go out in those conditions - I'd want to know I had the strength back for the inevitable fall.

We live in the UK not Finland, at best it'll be slush that will last till lunch.

It will however be cold and wet and cold and wet, are you trying to put them off cycling forever?

He is one of those non-MTBing proper roadie types, I'm afraid. Quite why I agreed to him being my best mate at school and best man at my wedding I have no idea.

I am hoping that my influence on my godsons will encourage the poor man to find the One True Knobbly Tyred light.
