I have an unexpected free weekend coming up in March and i'm planning on getting down to North Wales for a couple of days. On one of the days im planning to walk up Snowdon via Crib Goch but i'd like to spend the other day on the mountain bike.
I havent fixed any plans yet but i'm toying with the idea of staying in Betwys-y-Coed and the biking could possibly be either riding at Penmachno or maybe even cycling up Snowdon. Anyone any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations of either accommodation or rides?
I ride a full Sus MTB with average ability. Speed isnt my forte but always up for a good challenge as well!
Snowdon should be on everyone's "to do list" but the Ranger is pretty demanding mate. I'd think twice about doing it on my own.
Penmachno can be reached from ByC and is a cracking ride. The Marin in Gwydyr Forest is also a pretty good trail for you.
