I've managed to snap the small red bolt that holds the lever in place. Pretty annoyed as I was using a standard allen key, didn't put a lot of force on it and it sheared the bolt off pretty easily without any warning. (I've seen someone else do exactly the same thing, so maybe a design fault?)
The axle/ratchet lever still works ok, its just that I now have to make sure I keep the lever in my backpack at all times or I'll have no way to take the wheel on/off. PITA. Does anyone know where you can buy just the small red retaining bolt? A whole new axle and lever is a fairly stiff 30-35quid on CRC.
And if I can find a spare bolt, whats the best way of getting the snapped end out of the thread? Thanks.
I don't think you can buy it separately, but IIRC Superstar make a replacement ratchet that's a fair bit cheaper.
Best way of removing it is to clamp the skewer in a vice, and grip the remaining stub with a pair of Mole-grips.If there's nothing protruding then you'll need to file the end flat, centre punch it and then drill a hole to fit a screw extractor such as an Easy-out.As far as replacements go, as I remember, it's just a bolt so buy a stainless or high tensile replacement.

Do they? Link? Or are you just thinking of their 10mm QR skewer which is a different thing entirely.
Oh, and there's must be loads of surplus little red bolts out there, the lever usually dies with these making them pretty much scrap. Assuming the bolt bit is steel, you could probably melt the stub of the alloy bolt out using a solution of caustic soda btw.
Think he means this http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=287 only £7.99
StuE's link is a 10mm one for a rear wheel, you need a 9mm one for the front.

Out of interest, why were you undoing the red allen bolt?
The bolt will be a stock size - so if you can remove it replacement is easy. Was it alloy being red? They break easily especially in small sizes.
As for removing it. as above if there is a bit protruding molgrips or cut a slot and remove with a screwdriver. If its sheared off flush then try using a punch at an angle off centre to drive it round - or drill and screw extractor
