Out for a first ride on my Iron Horse 6point6 and we came across this adder right in the middle of the trail.
Nearly ran it over - I thought it was a branch or something 'til my mate pointed out it was a snake. The dog was quite interested until it started hissing........

Dunno about that but took my Kiwi mate into The Carron Chip Shop, Stonehaven to sample a deep fried Mars bar after our ride. They invented them there apparently.
Last adder I saw in the wild was a Scottish one - basking in the sun on a road at Kirroughtree.
to be honest im a bit dissapointed, i was hoping for some kind of epic battle scene...nice to see a snake though, havent seen one in ages!
