Anyone else lose important bike bits because they're tiny? Lost the plug for my SLX shifter when I changed the inner cable this afternoon. Any bodges if i don't find it? Or got one they could post to me?

I've a spare in the toolkit, remind me to bring it to the pootle

I could do with a preload thing for a crankset...

I sheared my Hope seat clamp bolt 200 miles from home a few days ago. That was kind of essential. ๐Ÿ™

Hidden bolt securing my front brake on my road bike fell out 30 miles into a century. The bodge was to wrap the caliper around the bars and ride carefully for another 50 miles, until a mechanic found a spare.

I've got a plastic pre-load thingy (I presume you mean HT2 cranks) I'll bring it up on Thursday

Sam, a bit of tape or a dod of blu-tack would plug the gap if you were riding before Saturday

Not doing the pootle, going on holiday ๐Ÿ™‚ Could I collect it midweek at some point? Bike probably won't be ridable until friday, depends when I get my shock back, but might be able to come through wednesday evening on the way back from Stirling Uni open day if that works?

Vorlich, email the nice hope people. I've done that twice and they've kindly sent me new bolts for free!

Cheers Zoolander. I've already ordered a replacement unfortunately. The bloody thing just about dented my car bodywork when it ricocheted off it. Thankfully I manage to save my ride with a massive steel bolt scrounged off a campsite owner.

nothing? most of my shifters have lived on without them.

Once snapped a hope top cap bolt half way round penmachno trying to sort headset play. 3 mates pushed down on bars as I did up the stem bolts - was fine but couldn't help looking at the hole

Lost those small plastic sleeves that fit round hydraulic lines so that they are snug in the guides on the frame... The lbs doesnt have any and a bit of black gaffa tape looks a bit crap...

to be fair, if you don't replace it then it's not a huge problem. You could use blu-tac as suggested or perhaps a bit of electrical tape - it;s to stop mud getting in the top end of the cable.

You can call in when passing, of course. Might be out if it's late evening, but if so I'll let you know where to find it.

I went to stirling for a look round when chossing a uni, nice place

Martyn, that'd be great cheers. Not riding myself, injured.
