Can anyone tell me if the triple chainring SLX crankset comes with the steel pedal thread inserts?
I would just buy the one with the bashguard but I already have one from my Gamut device and the 44T chainring on the triple ring cranks will come in handy for my commute bike!
any help would be great!

No steel pedal inserts (or steel axle). The middle (32T) ring is steel teeth on composite ring for longevity whilst keeping weight down (SLX double/bash is alloy 36T ring)

no but I have not broke it either - have a triple and a double seems to work just fine as is

Spacing between the sprockets is bigger on the double I think. I use one with an SLX triple derailler and it's not ideal to setup. So go all double or all triple.
