Am moving back up North (for the riding) and anticipating wetter weather than you get down South and wondering about investing about £1,000 on a winter road bike to save trashing my carbon one...
Genesis do a nice steel-framed one and Ribble's winter bike looks like good value. Any other ideas? Ideally I'm after steel with a carbon fork and a Campy group
Not that unseasonal, unfortunately.
It's not steel, but I ride a Kinesis TK in the grotty weather. It's nice enough that I don't miss the good bike when it gets put away, and it has plenty of clearance for 25mm tyres with full guards. Bit of shopping around/classifieds scrounging should get one for around £1000, depending which groupset you want.
edit: Epic Cycles do a Sora model for £999.
