As title, my wife is a reluctant MTBer and an arranged ride today is a doubt as she is convinced it is going to be hazardous (ice), can somebody tell me otherwise?

Thanks.

The hazardous ice is mostly on the fire roads and very visible (well it was on Sunday) but there is usually a way round on the grass/edge/gravelly bits.

You won't have a problem if you're careful.

Some photos here showing conditions over the last couple of days..

Fire roads are icy - but lots of great rideable stuff away from FTD

chalkstorm - there's a picture in that lot that's got me wincing. The one with the biker/tree interface. Hope he's ok!?

To be honest, the only injury was to the ribs of all the other riders looking at the photo later!

He was fine...... and secretly proud to be the subject of such a hilarious photo! He wasn't the only faller on that trail yesterday - but without doubt, the most stylish!

Rode round most of Phase 2 and The Dog yesterday. Still very icy on the fire roads but the trails are in good nick.

Rode FTD late yesterday. Was fine. Frozen hard & easy going. Surprising amount of grip actually.
Some fire-roads were lethal though.
Where's this bloody snow they threatened...

And please respect CT & stay off the new stuff, however tempting. ๐Ÿ™‚
