So I've just got a new slash after previously having a Remedy . they both obviously come with the trek Knock Block which is fine and in theory a good idea. It does limit you to the Bontrager Stem though. Has anyone got rid of their KB and put another stem on. I presume its a case of another Spacer / adaptor. ?

Yep. Got a Trek Rail with KB. Wanted my stem/bar combo from donor bike. LBS fitted before I collected bike from them. Was just a case of adding an adaptor. No probs. They're easily available for retro fitting most stems to Trek bikes.

Its easy to swap to another stem/spacer. But I have ridden my wifes Trek that has one fitted and didnt find it an issue / problem at all. Im my experience it seems a good idea. It did not limit the bikes ability when I rode it.

Never notice it when I'm riding, but it can be a right pain in the **** when loading bikes into van/car!
(Love my Remedy tho)

You can get a Knock Block collar for a normal stem

https://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/components-c9/headsets-c79/knock-block-1-1-8-lockring-spacer-p19463/s59011?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=trek-knock-block-1-1-8-quot-lockring-spacer-545523&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&cid=GBP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgMDSodeF6AIVA7TtCh18WgD0EAQYASABEgJtKfD_BwE

I have seen somebody mill Knock Block slots in a normal stem that had enough meat.

I dont notice it when riding, but do when jumping, if I whip it hits the knock block (like whipping a DH bike when the forks hit the frame)
