Its plainly silly now isnt it..

The New Years Honours are nothing but a popularity contest.
The more popular your sport - the bigger the medal/Honour.

Did any Brit 2012 Olympic medal winner not recieve an honour?

Phil Taylor must be fuming that darts isnt as popular these days ..

mooman - I haven't studied the list in any detail.... ....but which sportsman do you think got a higher accolade for being popular rather than successful? or could popularity be associated with success? or which one got a lower honour despite their achievements...

Phil Taylor was awarded an MBE in 2001 but it was revoked following a criminal conviction.

Poly - I am no Phil Taylor fan. Merely used his name to make a point.
But looking at his achievments. 11yrs of success until he was awarded a MBE.
