Singular repainting...

[Closed] Singular repainting - colour schemes (or should that be colorways?)

My Swift is starting to show its age a little (and storage in my previous very damp garage didn't help) and I'm thinking of getting it repainted.

Sam's confirmed that he sells the decals (and I note that different models have different colour decals) and head badge but I'd love some pics to see what non-standard colours people have gone for.

I was thinking of kawasaki type green as I've always wanted a bike that colour but it probably doesn't really suit a Singular though I haven't written the idea off totally. Also considering a 'sage green' (as Mrs N would call it) which may be more in keeping...

Pics would be great. TIA

I've had a couple of 'none more green bikes' - a decade virsa which was a bit big for me, and an old kona from djuc_wun of this parish which was a tiny bit small but more my thing - the bigger bike didn't look as good in green as the smaller one. Probably just me tho.
The spangly sparkle blue the Charge dusters came in was nice if a bit fragile, although some have said it looked a bit supermarket BSO. Again, probably my lack of taste.

Fragile paint...I had a SC resprayed under warranty by Argos. I chose my colour but got a call from them to the effect that it was not a very good idea as some of the brighter, more sparkly paints were too fragile for MTBs. The recommended palette was basically black or black. In the end I went for black....it was durable enough but went flat really quickly and looked terrible.

The original paint on the SC (silver) was so fragile, bu the time I had finished my first ride, the paint had somehow worn back to the primer. Anyway, the moral is...beware fragile paint.

My Swift is in need of a respray too so I'll watch for interesting pictures.

Surely it's Power Coat you want for MTB tough, not paint?

Sorry ๐Ÿ™‚

(it's the coordination rather than the frame colour itself)

Thanks so far. Powder coat is good but I've been getting enamel resprays for years on various frames and they're easily up to mtbing.

This is a flam(boyant) green from Dave Yates. Some subtle sparkle, and a yellow top coat, looks very special in the sunshine. It'd look good with a cream panel, I reckon./

Have a look at field cycles their paint jobs and masking work is sublime and make a swift look sex on a stick.
