I Live in Worthing (well just outside), unfortunately I have no info, but I wish I did. Just so I wouldn't share it with them.

Wouldn't it have been amazing if the cause of the smashed window was in fact someone returning a sick frame. express delivery!

Ah come on guys, 'tis the season of goodwill.

I actually do have footage of the incident and I think it's only right to share it with them...

someone returning a sick frame

Sadly, they'd have to have delivered a few more for this to be at all likely.

I'd happily take a deposit for a replacement window from them, I have no intention of supplying one but I think they would be ok with that business model. I may also produce a t-shirt range...

I miss the Sick bikes thread. I liked that it used to disappear for a couple of weeks, then bob up to the surface again.

Maybe this thread can help keep us informed of their work.

You could have saved hundreds of pages of sh*te being posted.

(They also argued back, put themselves in the press and promised much, delivered so little)

Clueless muppets start bike brand and fail spectacularly leaving lots of people out of pocket including manufacturers.

The whole thing was made much worse by their attitudes. They got a shocking amount of publicity for a couple of poseurs who had never produced anything. Quotes like "If you insult us on the internet we will fight you" etc, etc. The media lapped it up and fed their considerable ego.

Then there was the periodic press releases where they had an opportunity to clear the air but passed the buck and blamed the 'haters'. The even came on here to tell everyone not to buy their bikes.

Absolute self-pitying cry babies. The whole thing was a circus from start to finish.

What have I missed out?

Thinking about it, and if I recollect correctly, the timing of the whole Sick! thing really starting to kick off correlates somewhat with the pandemic kicking in. Coincidence? I'm not so sure..

I mean I can't lay the blame entirely at their door, but equally, like the GOP I can't rule it out either.

Surely they should be dropping some Make Sick! Great Again hats in time for Xmas?

Unfortunately unable to help re the window. But if whoever did it is reading this then maybe give it 6 weeks before helping them have a smashing start to 2021

What have I missed out?

They also tasked a few people who definitely weren't their mates to come on here and troll to get people banned.

Ultimately they are just a bunch of bullshitting conmen who promote 'style' over substance to people who are taken in enough to part with some cash. Then get all snowflakey if someone dares call them out. Despite trying to look all 'ard at the same time.

You have to hand it to those guys.....they've already had enough cash donated to them to more than cover the costs of the repair!

I forget what the link between the tattoo shop and SICK bikes was? Was it one of the tattoo guys involved in SICK and SICK was registered at the same premises as the tattoo shop?

Now one of them is involved with 'mash gang', making alcohol free craft beer.

And moved/moving to north wales. I suspect to make friends with the Athertons and give them bike manufacturing advice.

This article was an absolute cringepiece when it was brand new and needless to say it's aged like milk.

They had a tee you could buy that was an area for some text you could write and a Sick! logo underneath.

I wrote 'No. 1 Marino Reseller' and bought it, with real money.

Sadly they never printed it, I thought they might see the funny side but apparently not. Got messages off each of them. I think Jordans just called me a **** but Tim's was very long and revolved around how I ruined his holiday to Disney land. And indeed, there he was on Instagram at Disney land. And he did look sad.

They refunded the tee.

Jordan really is a dickhead. When he knows he has a reputation for gobbing off and then 'disappearing' the posts, what does he think anyone who is clued up enough to troll him is going to do?

🤦‍♂️

If they paid by PayPal or credit card, and claimed within the timeframe, yes.

Otherwise, largely no.

A few people got restraining orders though.

Jordan really is a prize dickhead, messaged them about a frame early on before all it went crazy. They said it was in stock so I ordered it, 2 weeks later I enquired where it was, they replied that the delivery was delayed and would arrive in 3 weeks. 3 weeks passed and the delivery was stuck in customs and they were struggling to pay the duty (who would have thought that you had to pay duty on imported goods?), when that got sorted the frame arrived. 6 months from order to delivery on a frame that was in stock.

So the box is in my hands, I open it, instead of being bare metal it the colour of milk that has been left in the sun for 3 weeks, the paint also has a texture to match. The quality of the paint was awful, it would fall off just looking at it. The build quality of the frame was also absolutely shit, it has put me off buying a Marino. I contacted Sick to say I wasn't happy and they should replace the frame, a few emails went back and forth the silence, more silence, followed by more silence. About 5 months later they asked if I still had the frame, it had been sold on by then.

The only contact in the end was when I called out the customer service guy on here and got a whiney email off him.

I got off lightly, many others didn't. He scammed many people including those that worked for him and then he goes on to blame everyone else for his downfall.

TLDR: Jordan is a prick, lied about stock, delivered shit product if at all, Jordan is a prick.

Worth bearing in mind a Marino is about £500 which is a hell of a lot less than other custom builds. I tend to think of him as a Peruvian Tom Barker (of Mr Big fame).

But yeah his powder coats were shonky for a time, a lot better now so I hear. It may also have been another builder entirely, they used a few folk.

Although UK wages are about seven times Peruvian wages, so that’s the root of the cost difference. And he’s probably earning more than many in Peru which I’m sure is the reverse of UK custom builders!

This is a good point. I’ve seen one direct ordered custom Marino and it looked well made and was nicely painted.

Great news! My S!ck Wulf frame is going to be delivered today. Just 2 years after I originally wanted it, I mean I only ordered it from Marino a fortnight ago but still.
We know disruptive it was to the industry, let’s see how disruptive it is to my riding group. I imagine it will slow things down somewhat on the uphills as a minimum (if that’s even possible)

The frame that turned up as definitely a Marino, it was some of the worst welding I have seen. There were gaps in the welds, some of the welds also had spikes on them which would probably give you a cut. Other Marino frames I have seen have looked ok, this one really wasn't.
