Hi all,

On the back of a couple of my recent posts, I'm looking for ideas on CX commuter bikes...

So, please post pics up of your commuters road or CX 🙂

Thanks

Love the daft thing - ridden it over stuff you really probably shouldn't and it never even flinches! Love sending it through the black sections at trail centres and seeing peoples faces!

By CX commuters, do you really mean disc braked road bikes with mudguard and rack eyes? They're very different things.

Always a winner. I particularly liked "Dad, why's that guy on a road bike?" Never heard the anwser sadly.

It wasn't bought to be a commuter but I've not ridden anything else since I got it.

It's evolved a bit now, but essentially the same.

Monksie - that's probably one of the best looking bikes I've seen on this site.

Mine fitted with Schwalbe Marathon Supremes. TBH the love is lost and I fancy something more roadie and steel. It works well as a CX bike but even with the big tyres its not exactly comfy.

Here's the original Tripster, which was great fun and really got me convinced about the merits of disc braked road / commute / cross bikes.
[img] [/img]

and the ridiculously good Tripster ATR that replaced it a year ago.
[img] [/img]

That ^^ bike epitomises a 'do it all'. I commute 22 miles each way on it once or twice a week, I blat round on it of an evening for a bit of exercise and I've just done a 90 miler on it this morning. It tours, it flies up hill, you can ride it all day, it's stable on 'gravel', weighs little more than a regular race bike yet doesn't flinch at the crappy roads round here. The mudguards are off for the summer and it's running on 25mm tyres until the weather gives up, but it very soon became clear that I didn't need the carbon road bike after it arrived. I hardly ride anything else now.

Thanks Daffy. It rides superbly. I normally choose 54cm road bikes but I went for 52 with the Colnago. I fitted a 120mm stem and pushed the seat right back on its rails and it handles better than any road or 'cross bike I've had before. The bars are 5mm lower than in the photo now as well.

Well at least mines the other colour.

10 miles each way a couple of times a week plus evening rides round the fields whilst the woods are too overgrown for the mtb.
