I'm now up to 5 bikes in the garage, (My HT, my 5, DH bike, Brothers DH bike, Gf's hartail) and it's getting tricky to always lovingly, "reverse park" them into the array of crates and boxes I'm using to keep them upright. I'm thinking of getting a sheet of ply and some 2x2's and making some wheel stands in a "fan" type arrangement, to keep the bars / pedals from interfering with one another. Any better ideas?
I have (well had until I painted the floor and haven't put them back in) some wheel stands bolted to the wall at a 30 degree angle for holding the back wheel of each bike (5!) Made from decking off cuts and 3x3 decking joists.
No pics sorry.
Ideally I'd like to keep them upright, I've enough floor space.. Shortcut is that a long and low 30 degrees or high and steep?
the bikes are at 60 degrees to the wall and vertical. 5 bikes takes up roughly 25% of a 1 car garage. Getting slightly confused on my angles as it is 30 degrees of 90 rather than 30 degrees to the wall!
Its been a long week.
So to sum up. There are a series of bits of beam bolted to the wall, these are cut to hold the bike at 60 degrees to the wall with vertical lumps of deck board going to the floor. They take up almost no room until you slot the bikes in.
Hope this helps.
