*resists obvious answer*

I think we should have a 'lets be nice day' and see how it goes.

I try to be helpful and argumentative :o) Pleasant gets a low priority, along with ironing and polishing my shoes (of which I have none)

It's always been like this. I've been on here since about 2000 and there's a section of folk that post on here who've always had a foot planted very firmly on the argument pedal...

TBH I don't know of any internet forums that have a half way decent level of traffic that aren't like this place

perhaps people like arguing, but are too polite to do it in person ?? (not me obviously)

"(not me obviously)"

I imagine you'll argue as much face-to-face as on here.

What Simon says...

I bet responses would be different if we were all face to face, myself included ๐Ÿ˜ณ

to be honest, the 1st time i met simon i thought he was a lot quieter than he is on here...

a lot of the posts seem to end up in a argument for no reason.

perhaps because I don't want to dumped on my arse in the middle of nowhere ? (we were in Tony's van)

you don't need a reason for an argument :o) I think therefore I am arguing...

personally id sooner vent my pent up frustrations about work, money, weather etc. on a bunch of middle aged forum saddos than my wife and kids. they dont deserve it, neither do you, i just like them more. so up yours the lot of yer.

plus half the nastiness is really pretty funny. if you dont like what you are reading there will always be plenty of other threads, sites and *gasps* interests to pursue.

If you get annoyed at the forum for being rude then you're spending too much time on the forum.

Try sticking to the Bike/classifieds forum instead of chat/crap forum?

OMG - I might have to agree with SFB!

I try to be helpful when I can - and try to be pleasant. Some stuff on here annoys me greatly and I have to dispute it, occasionally I lose my sense of perspective and get nasty.

I also seem to appear to be more stroppy than I intend

Well said Ton. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was going to make the same comment on that Friday Poll thingy about what people don't like. Can't beleive people just want to mock each other and take piss out of each other.

I think people just want to argue because they are not satisfied in life.

I think thats life after posting a thread like this a few weeks ago. Its not neccessary but I think people like to vent their frustrations on here even if it get personal. They feel they don;t know you so who cares. Just rude people around generally! 8O. oh and MTFU ๐Ÿ˜‰

Replace "on here" with in life and "post" with conversation. You will then be some way to answering your own question.

Chill, it dosen't really matter.

It is the nature of this site these days. Try retrobike for a rather more relaxed atmosphere.

Nowt wrong with arguing, it's just discussion about differences. Don't antagonise people though - it's not hard to have a friendly argument. Or maybe for some folk it is?
